Norma A. Elmore
January 13, 1932 – December 12, 2010
Norma Elmore, loving wife, mother of three and friend to so many more passed away on Sunday December 12, 2010 at the age of 78 in Campbell River. She leaves sons Derek (Margaret) of Campbell River, David (Kim) and granddaughters Sophia and Ava of Toronto, daughter Chrissy (Dave), and grandson Dalen Gray of Victoria. Mom was predeceased by our Dad (Dale) on December 18th, 2003. She also leaves her much-loved four legged family members Isabel and Jamie who have now found a new and loving family.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Dr. Daniels and Dr. James for their devoted care and attention. We would also like to thank Dr. Chan and all the staff at the CRRH; they were all wonderful. Our Mom loved her marvelous neighbors and friends in her Mitlenatch subdivision. Their love and care of our Mom was truly wonderful and so generously given. Thank you all very, very much. Meline, Mom stands at your driveway and Nickie, our CR sister, you went far and beyond and we thank you very much for that.
Mom was born in Glasgow, Scotland and moved to Canada at age 19. She was very proud of being a Canadian “Glesca Keely”. She met our Dad in Nelson, B.C. and they married in 1960.
Mom was a very funny woman and our Dad always said she could make the stars laugh. They are together once more and the stars are laughing.
She will be missed very, very much but for those of us saying, “She’s gone…” we know that there is someone waiting who is saying, “Here she comes”…
Mom did not want a service, but a drop-in and remembrance will take place at her home on January 3, 2010 between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
