Of Campbell River, formerly of Roberts Creek, (Sunshine Coast) passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10th, 2002 in his 83rd year, with his loving wife of 63 years, Cynthia, and his family by his side.


Bud was predeceased by his parents Oliver and Irene, his brother Oliver, sister Pearl, son Craig, and grandson Alan.


He is survived by sisters Ida, Allie, Olive, and Irene. His daughter Cyndie, of Shawnigan Lake, sons Howard, (Irene), of Rivers Inlet, Buddy (Marie) of Nimpo Lake, Norman (Lou) of Comox, Lorne (Debbie) of Campbell River, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.


Bud was one of the last veterans of World War II who was taken out of active duty because of his skills as a high-rigger, and was stationed in the Queen Charlotte Islands to log Sitka Spruce for airplanes.


Bud was also the grandson of famous coastal pioneer, Fred B. Jones, A.K.A. (Dirty-face Jones) or Jiggeroo Jones.


No service by request. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wilson Creek, S.P.C.A., Sechelt, B.C.
