van reeuwyk,

Mary

Born in Zoetermeer, Netherland on April 28, 1916, passed away March 21, 2002 in Campbell River, BC.

Mary is survived and dearly missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Peter and their three children Ria (Dave) Danis; Bram (Carol) van Reeuwyk; and Yolanda (Craig) Turnbull; grandchildren Steve (Lisa Anne) and Mike (Kirsten) Danis; Richard and Lana van Reeuwyk; Shannon and Mark Turnbull; great grandchildren Molly; Matthew; McCall; Mateo; Lorenzo; and Dominic Danis as well as her sisters Bep DeNoble; Jacoba Bood and Nellie Jongerius. Mary, Peter and their children immigrated to Canada in December 1951, traveling across Canada by train from Halifax, prior to settling in the Comox Valley. In 1955 the family relocated to Campbell River, where Mary dedicated her life to her family.

For many years, Mary and Peter enjoyed their family, their church, as well as the many pleasures of Campbell River in the summer and twenty-seven winters in the California sun.

The family extends a special thank you to the many friends, caregivers, hospice volunteers, doctors and nurses that supported Mary with their prayers and many kindnesses during her illness.

Services for Mary were held at Campbell River Baptist Church on Monday, March 25, 2002 followed by internment at the Elk Falls Cemetery.

Donations may be made in the memory of Mary to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation.
