Marvin (Marty) Edward

 

Marty was born June 22, 1958 in Edmonton, Alberta and passed away August 2, 2008 in Campbell River, BC.  He was predeceased by his father Francis and nephew Christopher.  Marty is survived by his loving wife Theresa (Terry) of 30 years, son Steven, daughter Sarah, mother Agnes, brothers Howard (Glenda), Calvin and Rodney, sisters Sonya LaRoche, Karen Mazzei, Carol Garrett, brothers-in-law Randy (Chris) Mazzei, Jim (Sue) Garrett, nieces and nephews Shauna (Dan) Collins, Dione (Chad) Cranswick, Amy Cotton, Nick Mazzei, Christie (Chris) Renaud, Merrilee Garrett, Holly Garrett, Carly Garrett and Jeff Garrett and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  In 1972 Marty moved to Campbell River and started working in 1976 as a logger where he worked for 32 years.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends.  Marty loved to make people laugh, loved the outdoors and sitting in his backyard listening to music.  He was a good family man with a good sense of humour.  You could see the kindness and caring that he had for all in his beautiful eyes that spoke words he felt for all inside his heart.  He had a gentle, caring and unpretentious manner and always put others before himself.  A Celebration of Marty’s Life will be held at ELK FALLS CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE, ELK FALLS MEMORIAL CEMETERY, Hwy #28, on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 1 p.m.  Donations in Marty’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1423B 16th Ave, Campbell River, BC  V9W 2E4.
