beloved mother of Betty Lou and Geraldine passed away quietly in Campbell River, BC., August 12, 2008 at the age of 94 years.

Marjorie was predeceased by her brothers: Goldwyn Claude Hill in 1996, James Munn Hill in 1976 and her sister Geraldine Lyndon Trout in 1987.

Marjorie is survived by her two daughters: Betty Lou Hendrickson (Roger) and Geraldine Lynne Short (Larry), three grandchildren: Kathryn Louise Hendrickson (Michael Guitard), Richard George Short (Megan), Melanie Elena Short (Steven Botham) and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by a step-son Greg Harper Bates (Wyona), seven great step-grandchildren and several great great stepgrandchildren.

Marjorie was born in Calgary February 9, 1914, the third child of James I. and Winnifred (McDonald) Hill. Marjorie married Edward Rex Lovewell in Calgary in 1937. He died in 1948. In 1955 she married Lester Lyle Schmidt in Calgary. Marjorie was widowed a second time in 2003 and at that time she moved to Campbell River. Marjorie was a loving mother, and grandmother. She was a creative person in every aspect of her life.

Betty Lou, Geraldine and their families sincerely appreciate the loving care Marjorie received during the last 5 years of her life from Lee Smit; her exceptionally kind and understanding nursing staff at Sunshine Manor and Marjorie's intuitive advocate there, Cheryl Campbell. Special thanks to Dr. Phipps for his extra time and wisdom.

There will be remembrance for Marjorie at Sunshine Manor, 70 Jones Road, Campbell River, BC Saturday August 23, from 12 to 2p.m.

Marjorie's cremated remains will be buried with her first husband in Calgary at a later date.
