Marguerite Wilson

June 10, 2017

Born November 15th, 1915, Marguerite was well on her way to her 102nd birthday when she died on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Campbell River, surrrounded by the love of her family. Predeceased in 1999 by her beloved Norm, Marguerite left her real home in Langley and moved to Campbell River, bravely facing a diminished life without him. Despite that, her sparkling blue eyes, enjoyment of people, sense of humour, feistiness, and love of language and music gained her many friends and admirers.

Marguerite is survived by her loving family: daughters Eileen McCutcheon (Doug), Helen Moats, Iris Ralston (Chris); grandchildren and great grandchildren Shannon Horne (Gary), Carter, Everett, and London; Steven (Corina), Reese and Callie; Dan (Heather) and Ben. Her nephew Jim maintained a constant presence in her life for 8 decades.

We thank the special people who cared deeply about Marguerite, especially Charleen Clandenning who was a loving and constant friend for thirteen years. Mom’s stays at Ironwood Place and Yucalta Lodge were made happier by the staffs’ caring personal attention to her and their many shared laughs. Dr. Michael Smith provided sensitive and reassuring end of life support.

There will be a small family gathering in Langley later this summer. Please make donations in Marguerite’s name to the charity of your choice.
