WENGER,

Margaret Elizabeth

1922-2005

Margaret passed away peacefully at Laurel Lodge in Courtenay, B.C. Tuesday, November 29, 2005. Born September 18, 1922 in Calgary, Alberta, Margaret had a very happy childhood, the only child of Bert and Mary Mew. In 1943, she married E.A. (Bob) Wenger and had two children, Gail and Tom. A third child, Joanne, died as an infant. Margaret retired with her husband in 1973 to Gabriola Island, British Columbia and after her husband’s death in 1981, she eventually settled in Campbell River to be closer to her family. In her retirement, Margaret enjoyed painting with water colors and oils and her family and friends were the recipients of many of her pieces. Her last two years were spent at the assisted living facility in Courtenay, B.C. where she enjoyed the weekly art sessions the Lodge provided. The family wishes to thank the staff at Laurel Lodge for the loving care they provided. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Gail (David) Jonas of Seattle, WA, son Thomas (Bonnie) Wenger, Campbell River, B.C., her two grandsons, Stephen Wenger and Scott (Tracy) Wenger and two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Summer all of Campbell River, B.C. Arrangements entrusted to ISLAND FUNERAL SERVICES / ELK FALLS CREMATORIUM, 103 - 909 ISLAND HIGHWAY, CAMPBELL RIVER.
