Margaret Elizabeth Ritchie
Passed away peacefully December 31, 2010 at the age of 86 at the Yucalta Lodge where she spent the last 4 years of her life.
Beth was predeceased by her husband Victor and two sons, Bill and Bob and one daughter Dorothy Carmen.
Beth (mum) will be greatly missed by her daughter Lynn Martin, (Campbell River), a brother, Bill Oxbury (Nanaimo) two sisters, Eva Coles (Burlington, Ontario) and June Westgate (Powell River). She also had many grandchildren and great grandchildren and friends.
Beth was a soldier of the Salvation Army while living in Powell River and was also an active member of the Royal Purple for fifty years.
She worked at the Campbell River and District General Hospital for twenty five years as a chartered accountant. After retirement she volunteered at the Hospital Gift Shop as well as other organizations.
She made many beautiful articles such as knitted sweaters, socks and crochet doilies which she donated to a number of organizations.
There will be no service, as requested. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Our many thanks go out to Dr. Veerapen and the many nurses and caregivers at the Yucalta Lodge for all their love and compassion given Beth.
