Margaret Elizabeth Lebid

1930- 2010


Margaret Elizabeth Lebid passed away at Campbell River and District Hospital on April 12, 2010 following a brave battle with cancer. Margaret is predeceased by her husband Frank, Father Edgar, her Mother Mary, Sister Ethel, and her Brother Wayne.


She is survived by her children Daniel (Marian), Leslie (Cheryl), Melvin (Kathy), and Frank. She leaves a legacy of grandchildren, Leslie (Kristy), Consula, Kris (Nancy), Tony, Justin, Curtis (Aleisha), Terri (Kurt), Ben, Chellsi, Jessica, and Travis, as well as 8 great-grandchildren. Her sister June (George) and relatives; sister-in-law, Mary Anne, nephews Byron and Michael (Netty), and niece Shannon, and brother-in-law Mike (Debbie).


Margaret was the eldest of 4 children. She was born and raised in Regina Saskatchewan and later moved to Minitonas, Manitoba. From there, her parents moved her to Flin Flon, Manitoba where she met her husband Frank. They then set out to Edmonton Alberta in 1953. They stayed in Alberta until 1973 when they moved to Sidney, B.C. From there they moved to the Qualicum Beach area where she remained until 2006 after which she came to Campbell River to be closer to her sons. Margaret had four sons whom she loved very much. Special thanks are extended to all the home care workers, Denis the pharmacist at People's Drug Mart in Willow Pt. and the 2nd and 3rd floor nursing staff who looked after Mom. A special thanks to her doctor, Pete Friderichs, who gave her such good, loving care.


A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1935 Evergreen Road, Campbell River, BC. There will be a Tea to follow the service at 501 Oak Place. The family wishes to have donations in lieu of flowers to the Canadian Cancer Society.
