Frankland - Lenard Richley April 4, 1930 - March 7, 2008

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Len Frankland in the early morning hours of March 7, 2008, surrounded by the comfort and love of his family. Len left this world much as he lived his life - on his own terms.

Len was born on April 4, 1930 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As a young man, he ventured to BC where he met the love of his life, Ilene, his wife of 54 years. He is also survived by his son, Mark (Gayle), his daughter, D’Arcy (Gary), three granchildren, Brett, Jason and Breanne, his brother Keith and sister Dorene.

Len expressed that he felt blessed to have the opportunity to enjoy a rewarding life as a businessman and adventurer, sailing in local waters and visiting exotic ports and countries around the world. He was a member of the Lions Club, Campbell River Curling Club, Royal Canadian Legion, Associated Canadian Travelers and a Shriner, instilling in his family the importance of community involvement. Len’s appointment prior to retirement as Chairman of the Board for OK Tire Canada was likely one of the proudest moments of his life, which took him again on many journeys across Canada, the U.S. and to the Orient to share his business principles and connect with his many industry associates. His final meeting with us filled with instructions, humour and praise, adjourned Friday.

May you be at peace - Len, Dad, Papa, Friend
