Laurie Bjola DESILETS

September 11, 2005

DESILETS,

Laurie Bjola

August 11, 1956 -September 11, 2005

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Laurie passed away at home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband Chris, son Andrew, daughter Courtney, Her parents Len & Anita Bjola, brother Les, sisters Jodie, Sandy, and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, friends, clients and their pets.

Laurie lived her life to the fullest, she was born in Victoria, Baptized at Sea, she spent most of her life following first her Dad then her Husband in their careers in the Canadian Armed Forces spending a better part of her life moving every 4 years. She lived all across Canada and in southern Germany. After 30 years away from Vancouver Island she made it back home, this time to Campbell River to start a new life and business, Paw Prints Studio Grooming.

Laurie we all saw you getting tired and weak, we all hoped for a cure, but that was not to be. You were told three to six we were hoping for years not months. So we all rallied to your side in a hope to hold on to you as long as we could. You did not deserve what you went through and so we give you rest.

Laurie we watched you fade away our hearts broken. You fought so hard to stay but when we saw you sleeping so peacefully and free from pain we could not wish you back to suffer that again. We will never forget you Laurie, your spirit will be with us always. We will honor your memory.

Family & friends are all invited to join us for a non-formal service memorial which will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Sept. 24 at her childhood home 2690 Nobhill Rd. (end of road) in Victoria (near the Colwood corner across from the Juan De Fuca Recreation Center) for more info contact Chris, 250-923-2433.
