It is with extreme sadness that the family of Kathleen (Keenie) Mary Danis (nee Jennings) announce her sudden passing April 1st, 2010 at the Campbell River Hospital. Keenie was born May 9th 1935 in Vancouver. B. C. She is predeceased by the love of her life Jimmy Skelton and her
sister Phyllis Milmore. Keenie is survived by her three children and her three grandchildren, her sister Alice May Macdonald and brother Walter Jennings (Gloria) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Keenie spent her life (along with raising a family) helping people in need. She worked tirelessly to make sure people less fortunate than she, had a hot lunch and a smile. Keenie was one of the founders of the Outreach Soup Kitchen which was started in 2002. Her own home was always open to anyone in need of a place to sleep or something to eat or a hug. Keenie loved her family, pets, friends and of course the Canucks. Gardening also gave her immense pleasure.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on April 24th, 2010 at 1:00PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Campbell River.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Outreach Society of the United Church would be greatly appreciated or to any charity of your choice. We would like to thank the staff at the I.C.U., Dr. Maynard and Dr. Arnold for the excellent care Keenie received during her stay.
Sis, Mom, Gram, Auntie, Gramma, Friend or whatever you called Keenie she will be greatly missed by all of us who were so lucky to have her in our lives.
