Katherine passed away peacefully on April 25 surrounded by loving family.
An invitation to a Celebration of Her Life is extended to all who were touched by Katherine’s effervescence and generosity of spirit. The service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Campbell River at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009.
Katherine, born in Port Alberni, grew up in Campbell River, spent 10 years in New Zealand where she began her career as a teacher before returning to her home town. Katherine was a dedicated teacher, loving and supportive mother, and a dear friend.
She will be especially missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Michaela and Ben Mistal, her grandchildren, Miyah and Ashtan, partner Dan Hunt, sister Marny Stevenson, and life long friends Trina Soltys and Joanne Barkwell. We would like to thank all of her friends, colleagues and students from school, members of her church, and hospital and home care staff who supported her throughout her journey and sickness with cancer.
