Karl Herbert Schmitt
April 4, 1935 – May 11, 2010
Passed away in Campbell River on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents Christian and Anna and his first wife Mary (1991). Karl is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife Lynn, his sons; Darrell Schmitt, Joe Regner and Tony Regner, his daughters; Cindy McLean (Brian), Rose Schmitt, Brenda Paulsen (Bucky) and Loretta Paulsen, his step-children Todd Nowicki (Barb), Trent Nowicki (Sam) and Lisa Nowicki, numerous grandchildren, his other 2 kids Hallie and Bailey as well as his brother Gunter Schmitt. Karl worked for 33 years as a longshoreman at the pulp mill and after he retired he worked at Tim Horton’s and delivered newspapers. He volunteered for 10 years for C.O.P.S. and drove cancer patients. In his leisure time Karl was an Eagles member, was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cribbage, and watching the young members of his family play sports.
A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, May 19th at 2 pm, at the Eagles Hall. If friends so wish donations in Karl’s memory made to the Diabetic Association or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
