James River, Antigonish County, passed away after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer, on July 28,2005, at St. Martha‚s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born May 30, 1961 in Toronto, she was the daughter of Hope (Dunbar) Mac Donald and the late Lauchie Mac Donald, Glen Road. Karen was a stay at home Mom who devoted herself to her children James Laughlin, age 11, and Samuel, age 9, and her husband David James, she was also loved gardening. Surviving are sister Elizabeth (Jeff) MacAulay, Grand Lake, NS, brothers Brian (Corinne), Grand Lake, Walter, Wayne, Antigonish, parents in law Caroline and Ira Dort, Port Bickerton, several nieces and nephews. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her grand parents Leroy and Ada Dunbar, father in law Edward Sample. Visitation 7-9pm today, 2-4,7-9 pm Sunday. Liturgy of Christian Burial 11 am Monday at St, Joseph‚s Church, St, Josephs, Rev. Dan MacLennon presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be her children‚s education fund, or to Palliative Care Nurses.
