Judi was born to William and Lorna Mackinnon in Halifax, Nova Scotia October 9, 1946, and passed away March 30, 2007 in C.R. Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Judi dealt with her cancer as she dealt with her life - with a positive attitude and never-ending sense of humor.

She was predeceased by her parents, son Chris and brother David. Judi leaves behind Don, her husband of 24 years, and children Craig and Leah (Jim) McBride and grand daughter Christine McBride, brother Don (Debra) Mackinnon of Powell River, BC, aunt Heather (Don) Marks of Truro, Nova Scotia, and cousin Lorna (Mike) Sibley of Pembroke, Ontario.

Before retirement, Judi worked for Public Health and was instrumental in setting up the Home Support Network, from which she received the benefits of in the past few months. A special thank you goes to Dr. Helen Garson, palliative care nurses Barbara Boniface and Pat Hayhurst and team, plus all the home care workers.

Judi was a long standing member and contributor of the Campbell River Genealogy Society, and was well known for her sense of humor, quick wit and one-liners. She was a world traveler and lived in many parts of North America and Europe.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and had the privilege of being part of her life.

There will be no service as per her request. No flowers please. Donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society or the Campbell River Hospital for Palliative Care.

What a beautiful difference one single life made.
