Joyce

Masales

With family by her side, Joyce passed away peacefully at Campbell River hospital on August 29th, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband Owen and her sister Doris Townsley (Harold). Born in Lacashire England, Joyce emigrated to Canada at a very early age, the family eventually settling in Hamilton, Ontario. At the age of 12 Joyce lost her mother, moved to Georgetown, left school and had to become a responsible adult.

In 1941, she married Randolph Owen Masales and resided in Manotick before settling in Acton. They had two sons,Terry (Marg) and Gary (Dianne). Also left to mourn are four grandchildren, Jason (Tia), Laura (Jeremie), Ryan (Estelize), Deron (Tanya), and five great grandchildren, Madison, Sophie, Jordan, Mikayla and Keira. In 2004, at the age of 80, Joyce bravely left her home of 50 years to live in B.C. She adored her grandchildren and would light up when they visited. Her quiet routine life would change to chaotic joy! Anyone who knew Joyce, would be well aware of her great love for animals --- pets were a huge part of her life --- cats, dogs, bunnies --- all creatures! Joyce was kind, good hearted, determined and hard working! She worked many years at Beardmores (Canada Packers). She will be dearly missed! She was a dear lady, whose many friends will feel such a loss.

Donations in her name may be made to the S.P.C.A., the Campbell River Hospital or charity of your choice.
