It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Matthias Lyczewski  On October 2, 2017 from a sudden heart attack. 

He is survived by his partner of 38 years Kevin and sister Marlene (Adrian) and brother Gerry (Marie) and many nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by his father and mother, Mathias and Magdalena Lyczewski  as well as  his brother Jim (Brenda) and sister Francis (Dennis).

Joe was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta and worked in Banking throughout Alberta and British Columbia where he moved in 1980 from Edmonton.

A wonderful craftsman and a talented artist, Joe worked in both wood and photographer, exhibiting his work in Galleries and cafes  in Vancouver BC, Harrison Hot Springs BC Campbell River BC and La Connor Washington .

His work resides  in collections in Canada, USA and the UK .

He enjoyed family, friends and travel, with trips to Portland Or., London, UK and Oaxaca Mexico his favorites .

He also loved to eat out and enjoy this with friends and family .. he was particularly fond of Ice cream.

Being raised on the prairie he grew to have a great love for that landscape  as well as the  ocean on both the west and east  coast. He loved the natural beauty of the BC and was very  happy in  his new home in Campbell River where he moved in 2016.

He  was loved by all who knew him for his humor, kindness, generosity and talent.

He will be sorely missed by many who's lives he touched.
