With broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many.
Mom’s passing was quick and done in the fashion she chose. She is survived by Bill and Queenie Ferris, Sherri and Fred Staman, Ed and Sue Ferris, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.Predeceased by daughter Roberta (2000) and husband Vince (2012). Together they are again…
Joan’s love was her husband Vince and her family. She was blessed with good genes from a big family; 8 sisters and 5 brothers. She had a great childhood and did not lack friends. Joan was an airforce wife, travelling from Nfld, NS, PEI, Europe and Comox. Packing up and moving every 4 years, she was a pro. While in Europe, she was sure on every long weekend the car was packed and we were off to Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Holland, France and summer vacations to Italy and Spain to name a few. Sunday drives were her favourite in Europe, checking out festivals and celebrations along the way. Joan also loved her sunrises, sunsets, reading in the sun and birds, especially the hummers. Most of all, she loved her family and found it life’s greatest gift.
A service will be held on Wednesday, May 10th, 1:00pm at Sutton’s Campbell River Funeral Home. Please wear green in her memory.
