FLETCHER,

Jean Mary Agnes (McGarry)

Died peacefully on October 26th 2007, at home with her sons at her side after a short battle with cancer. She was born on July 22, 1931 in Poltimore, Quebec to the late Rosae and Hugh McGarry.

Jean is survived by her sons, Eric (Claire-Helene Racine), Larry and her grandchildren Catherine and Andrew as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters (Eileen, Margaret, Katherine), her brothers (Peter, Patrick, Hugh and Joe) and her husband Dave Fletcher.

While she spent most of her formative years in Quebec and Ontario she moved to Campbell River with her family in 1974 and considered the west coast to be her new home.

While working in the catering department at the Discovery Inn she got to know a lot of people and always looked forward to the time she spent with her fellow coworkers as well as the Rotary lunches on Wednesday's.

Jean was well known for her honesty, laughs, and straight forward answers, she had a quick wit and was never at a loss for words (the bluer the better at times) and her smile and humour could be counted on to help brighten anyone's day.

The family would like to thank Dr.s Sutherland and Heath for their compassion and caring during her illness as well as the many home support workers who were there every morning helping her. There are a lot of ladies that she had grown fond of over time with many wonderful stories and memories that she truly treasured. As well the family would also like to thank Estelle, Heather and Andrea at the Thrifty's Pharmacy for all of their help and care it was truly appreciated.

Donations can be made in her memory to the C.R. Hospital Foundation, flowers are gratefully declined.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Campbell River, on Saturday November 3rd, at 1:00PM.
