Doug passed away suddenly April 21, 2009 after a long fight with pancreatitus and diabetes. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, his mother Phyllis Stapley, daughter Robynne Sharko Stapley, Debbie Sharko, sisters Cheryl (Bill) Ahrens, & Frances (Murray) Stoudt, brothers Dick Stapley, & Paul (Leslie) Stapley, and sister in law Denise Stapley. Nephews & nieces Steele, Trace & Reid Stapley, Kyle & Breanne Stoudt, Alexis, Mitchell, & Brett Stapley, and other extended family and relatives. He was predeceased by his father Frank in 1978.

Doug was a kind and generous soul, a caring person of his family, friends, animals & children. He loved the outdoors and for years was an expert water and snow skier. He was a skilled craftsman, carpenter, and loved to work on old trucks and cars. He worked in the community as a realtor for many years and had a zest for life that was contagious.

The family wishes to expess gratitude to the Alder Medical staff and Dr. McNeill who worked so closely with Doug during his life. Please join us for a celebration of life for Doug on Wednesday May 6, 2009 from 2-4pm at the Sequoia Springs Golf Course, 700 Petersen Rd. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make a donation to Search and Rescue Campbell River in his name.
