May 22, 1921 - June 20, 2017

With great sadness we announce that Hugh George Rombough passed away peacefully at Yucalta Lodge in Campbell River on June 20th, 2017, at the age of 96. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Esme, sons Leslie (Ruth), David (Debra), grandchildren Stacey (David), Matthew (Paula), Bradley (Ashleigh), Allison (Shane), and Meghan, great grandchildren Riley, Finley, Miriam and Noah, Addie and Ellerie and ten nieces and nephews.

Born in Darlingford, Manitoba, son of Estella and William Rombough. Hugh served in the RCAF in England in World War II, then made his career with Air Canada retiring as Manager of Flight Simulation.

Hugh and Esme lived in Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa before moving to White Rock, British Columbia in 1990. From there they moved to Campbell River in 2007 where they have lived happily for 10 years. Hugh will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A donation may be made in Hugh’s memory to a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Hugh’s life will be held at St. Peters Anglican Church, 228 South Dogwood Street, Campbell River on Tuesday, July 11th at 2:00pm, followed by a reception.
