Hilda Reeve

(nee Hayes)

Aug. 6, 1912 — March 5, 2009

Passed away quietly in her own home with family by her side. Hilda was born in Victoria and lived all her life in B.C., mostly on Vancouver Island.

Hilda was a survivor and took what life threw at her with humour and patience and was sharp as a tack even into her final days.

She worked at Victoria’s Hudson Bay Co. for 20 years before retiring in the 1970s to travel with her husband, Don, who passed in the 1980s.

She’d spent the last 35 years of her life in Campbell River where she enjoyed the company of many friends and family.

Hilda will be greatly missed by her children Dawn D’Amour (Art), Art Reeve, Judy Carveth and Jacqueline Westwood, her sister Isabelle Edgett and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Hilda’s family would like to offer special thanks to her home care workers, nurses and Dr. Proctor who provided kind, compassionate care always.

A celebration of Hilda’s life was held March 15 with friends and family in attendance at the Campbell River Legion.may be viewed and condolences left at www.mem.com.
