HESTER MARTHA BROOKS
Born April 11, 1928 passed away July 25, 2009 at Yucalta Lodge. Only daughter of Harry and Olive Scott, Hester and her husband Earl came to Campbell River in 1955 to operate the Rod and Reel Motel. When they sold the business in the late 60s and Earl retired, Hester went on to get her Real Estate License and enjoyed a successful career for some 20 years. Following her retirement, she and Earl moved to Courtenay but her heart was always in Campbell River. Fortunately she was able to return to Campbell River for the remainder of her years. Hester was a member of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board, Order of the Eastern Star and St. Peter’s Anglican Church. Predeceased by her husband Earl, Hester is survived by several of her cousins and their families in Alberta.
Funeral service to be held on Thursday, July 30th at 1:00 pm from St. Peter’s Anglican Church with the Reverend Rodney Ives officiating. Burial will take place at Elk Falls Cemetery followed by a reception at St. Peter’s Church. Island Funeral Services, Elk Falls Cremation and Reception Centre entrusted with arrangements.
