Helen Booker passed away on Tuesday, May 30th, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox B.C. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Frederick (Wallie) on January 26th, 2003. Helen is survived by her sons; Frederick (Shawna) of Tumbler Ridge, B.C. and Wayne (Donna) of Oyster River, B.C. her daughter Brenda (Bob) Letendre of St. Albert, Alberta, her grandchildren; Leslie (Mike) of Vernon, Scott (Lisa) of Germany, Lareina (Trev) of St. Albert, Trevis of Prince George and Krystle of Victoria as well as her great grandchildren; Tia and Jessa of Vernon, Ayden and Holly of Germany and Mason and Elleson of St. Albert. Helen served overseas with the CWAC during World War II from 1941 to 1945 and after returning home she took care of her family and raised her children. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, knitting and her chickens. A Service of Remembrance in celebration of her life will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 8th, 2006 from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY. Donations in Helen’s memory made to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, B.C. V9M 1P2 would be appreciated.
