Heather McCallum

2 May 1937 – 29 March 2010

Heather McCallum was born in Port Dickson, Malaysia on 2 May 1937. Raised in England then the Lower Mainland, she married and had four children, Bruce, Sage, Erin and Jay. Heather led an active full life doing the unexpected and experiencing the next adventure. Heather will be remembered by many as a mother, friend, modern dancer, punk rocker, heavy-duty mechanic, cleaning lady, political advocate, skate boarder, snowboarder, skier, waitress, educator and bear slayer!

Heather spent the last couple of years in Campbell River. Her family would like to thank the many caring individuals who provided home support while Heather lived with her daughter. Later she moved to New Horizons. We are very grateful to the staff for their care, compassion and most of all, their understanding of her circumstances. Heather was young in years, young in heart and young in spirit. She suffered from an uncommon and rapidly debilitating disease, Multi System Atrophy.

Heather lived life on her own terms, and passed from this life the same way. We’re proud of you mom and we will miss you!
