Gordon C. Lee

December 15, 2016

GORDON C LEE – a great friend, brother, son, uncle, cousin and teacher, passed away December 15, 2016 at St. Michael's Hospice in Burnaby. His passing came just two days after that of his life partner of 47 years, Lester Furlong.

Gordy was born June 17, 1936 to Jack and Gladys Lee in Powell River (Cranberry Lake). He graduated from Campbell River High School, took his Grade 13 in Powell River and began his teaching and counseling career. He taught in Ocean Falls, Kimberly, 100 Mile House, Campbell River and many years at Delview Secondary School in Delta.

He was involved with The Royal City Musical Theatre for over 20 years and loved to travel, bowl (golf a bit) and laugh over a martini with family and friends. He was the go-to person for so many of us, always with wise words and consoling comfort.

Predeceased by parents and brother Bob Lee.

Gordy is survived by his brother Don (Pat) Lee, sister-in-law Janet Lee; sisters Audrey (Roy) Reaville, Gail Third and Jacquie Abbott, a multitude of nieces and nephews as well as many special, dear and long-time friends.

He will be missed by all who ever met him.

A celebration of life to be held at a later date.

“Thank you for being the person you were” – from all of us.
