Gladys passed away, peacefully on March 9th.
She was born in Harburn Township in Haliburton District, Ontario, in 1911. Her parents were Robert and Ina Bowen. She had six brothers and two sisters. She is survived by Monte, her youngest brother. The Bowen family moved to Courtenay in 1924. She married Roy Harrison in 1935 and was predeceased by Roy in 1988. She is survived by their two children, Myrna (Sam) Alexander and David (Kathleen) as well as seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her great interest, affection and care for her immediate and extended families. Gladys' last three years were spent at Laurel Lodge in Courtenay where she received excellent care from a dedicated staff. Her ashes will be interred alongside Roy's in Ross Bay Cemetery in Victoria. By request, there will be no service.
