It is with overwhelming sadness we announce the sudden death of our loving Dad , Gerry Lichtenfeld. Gerry was born in Kitimat, BC and grew up in Terrace, BC. He moved his family to Campbell River in 1988, where he was a building inspector for the city until early 2000 when he injured himself. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed to hike and run. He never passed up an opportunity to talk about his marathon and running days. He loved drawing up plans and built 4 houses over the years and always said he left something out so he could build another one. He loved knowledge, science and dabbled with different ideas, always writing down thoughts and life questions. Dad was inventive, romantic and traditional. He welcomed everyone and was always there when you needed him whether for advice or to teach (pretty sure many of our friends lived at our house at one point or another).

His favorite place was the family’s lake property up in Francoise Lake, BC. He called it his paradise and loved to take the family there every year for vacation to fish, swim and just enjoy the outdoors. He was always happiest with his whole family around and enjoyed any occasion that included us all.

He is laid to rest alongside his mom and dad in the family plot on the property. He is where he loved to be looking out over the beautiful lake.

Gerry will be forever remembered by his loving wife Kim, his children, who were his pride and joy: daughters Kara (Jimmy) and Tanya (Ken) and son Jeremy, plus grandchildren Brady, Fischer and Annabelle, as well as his sister’s Melissa and Linda, niece Jennifer and nephews Nick and Kyle and all his extended family and friends.

A celebration of Dad’s life will be held on Saturday September 10th. Please contact Kara if you would like to attend. Phone 250-507-3518 or email: karaleeguan@gmail.com
