George NOBLE

March 25, 2010

George Noble

November 21, 1925 - March 25, 2010

of Oyster Bay, Campbell River, BC

George passed away peacefully on 25th March 2010, at Campbell River General Hospital following an illness borne with great courage and dignity, aged 84.

Husband of the late Irene Noble who passed away on November 7, 2009. Irene was predeceased by her only son Trevor Cook of England.

George, former owner of Custom Engine Rebuilders, was a true gentleman with a big heart who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all his friends in Campbell River and his step-grandsons Robin and Simon Cook in England, Brother John & family of England and Brother Des and family of U.S.A.

George served overseas in WW2 in Holland, where he was wounded but returned to duty as soon as was allowed. He has several medals which he was very proud of. He emigrated to Canada in April of 1957 where he started out working in Winnipeg. George worked in Alberta for many years for Taylor, Pearson & Carson before coming to Campbell River. He worked at Kirk Auto Parts in the machine shop until he was inflicted with stomach cancer. He beat it and started his own shop on the Old Island highway in Campbellton. He and Irene loved to Ballroom dance, play darts but his true love was to go out in his little boat, fishing on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Maybe George and Irene will have the chance to dance again free of pain. Rest in Peace. You will be sadly missed. No service by request.
