Passed away unexpectedly in the company of his wife & son, at Vancouver General Hospital at age 57. Sadly missed by family & friends. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Gwen Magnusson. Survived by his loving wife Veronica, son Ted and daughter-in-law Paula. His brother John (Jan) of Garden Bay, BC. His aunt Marian Miller of Colborne, Ontario, his cousins Eric & Greg (Bonnie) Miller, his sisters-in-law; Hanny (Arnt) Corry (Fred), Marijke (Kyo), Jacqueline (Malcolm) and many nephews and nieces.


Gary was born in Ontario and moved to B.C. as a young boy. He worked at Elk Falls Mill as a machinist. (Gary could be seen traveling to and from work each day on his scooter). He was involved in the annual Teddy Bear run as a member of the Gold Wing Association. Recently Gary joined the Antique British Car Club. As a member of the Power Squadron he enjoyed many great times boating in the waters off of Campbell River. Gary enjoyed his travels to Cuba with his wife Veronica and Cuba became their home-away-from-home. He lived his life to the fullest everyday.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, March 2, 2002 at the Ramada Inn Ballroom. Donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation.
