Fred lived a full and interesting life, independent to the end. Never one to let circumstances get him down, he always rose to the occasion. After a lifetime in the mining, forestry and trucking industries, at the age of 50 Fred returned to school, and was in the first grad class from Simon Fraser University, obtaining a teaching degree. In his retirement years, Fred was an avid woodworker an fisherman, and he became a fine cook and baker, famous for his cheesecakes. He is remembered with love by his two sons, Bill (Heidi) and Reg (Norma), and four daughters, Mavourneen (Rick), Pamela (Ray), Penelope (Richard), and Ok Hee (Keith), as well as 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen in 1996.
