March 20, 1915 - March 25, 2017
Florence May passed away on March 25, 2017 at Yucalta Lodge. May was born in Saskatchewan on March 20, 1915. She came to Campbell River in 1951 where she raised most of her nine children. May worked hard but she also gardened and hobby farmed. She lived at Ironwood Place for years and played lots of cards. She was a very happy person. We all loved her and she loved each one of us.
She was predeceased by her husband Ivan, daughter Ella Baker, sons Bill, Jack and Ernie, grandson Allan MacDonald, sister Freda Beer, brothers Ernie, Less, Stan, Mom and Dad and Bev Knowles.
She is survived by daughters Ethel (Terry) MacDonald, Sheila (Gary) Heslop, sons George, Ivan Jr. and Gary (Laura) Knowles and many many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great Grama, and one brother Bill (Doreen) Blyth in Saskatchewan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Red Cross in May’s name would be appreciated. Thank you for all of your love, support and comfort during this difficult time. Many thanks to the CRD Hospital, Yucalta Lodge and Dr. Robert Sutherland.
