Emmeline H. (Nee Blake) EINARSON

December 21, 2005

einarson,

Emmeline H.

(Nee Blake)

Born December 28, 1918 in

Ellersby, Alberta

Died December 21, 2005 in Victoria, British Columbia

Em grew up on a farm near Edmonton. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, as her own mother passed away within days of Em’s birth. Em was one of 9 children; she had 7 brothers and 1 sister. All of her siblings have predeceased her.

Em met and married Lew Einarson in Vancouver in 1942. They settled in Campbell River, where they raised four children; twin boys Ken and Cliff, Ralph (Mary), and Valerie (Don Daigle.) They were blessed with four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and a new great-great-grandson.

Lew and Em retired to Victoria. It was there that Em joined the Balalaika Orchestra of which she was an enthusiastic member for eighteen years.

Em and Lew moved to Luther Court fifteen years ago. They became well-known and well-loved members of this community. They were regulars at the 10 o’clock coffee group in the Cedar Room and enjoyed many friendships in that context. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in this community. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their life together.

Em’s health began to decline this past year. After a period of hospitalization, she moved into care at Luther Court. She passed away in the arms of Lew, her loving husband of 63 years this past Wednesday, December 21st.

We give thanks for our many memories of Em, even as we commend her to God’s gracious care.

Blessed be her memory.
