Elmer Ellingsen

Of Cortes Island, passed away peacefully in the Sunshine Lodge, Campbell river and District Hospital in his 90th year on December 26th, 2002. He is survived by, May, his loving wife of sixty-six years; his daughter Shirley, her husband, Vic, their children Corrie, (her husband Rob), and Scott; son Bruce, his wife Ginnie, their children Daniel (partner Grant McDonald), David, Trygve, (his wife Laura, their children Ira and Oliver), and Tor; son Andy, his wife Sue, their children Aaron, (wife Emily) and Siri, (partner Jack White). His Brother-in-law, Wilf Freeman, and his wife, Nora, along with many other relatives and friends will deeply miss him.

The family wish to thank Dr. Overhill of Cortes Island, Dr. Jacob and the entire staff at the Sunshine Lodge for the outstanding care given to Elmer. A celebration of Elmer’s life was held at the Manson’s Landing Community Hall on Saturday, January 4th, 2003, at 2:30PM. Donations in memory of Elmer to the Cortes Island Museum society, Cortes Community health Association or a charity of your choice.
