(Eleanor) Laura McDonald

May 19, 1930 – October 31, 2009

Laura passed away in the early morning of October 31, 2009 much as she lived her life, quietly and with great dignity surrounded by the love of her family.

Laura was pre-deceased by her loving husband Garf, her sister Jean and her brother Alec. Laura will be forever loved and terribly missed by her daughters Debbie (Bert), Donna (Al) and her son David, her adoring grand-children Deanna (Kelly), Kristi (Darren), Devery (Ryan) and Jaren. Emily, Abbi, Kasey, Olivia, Kennedy and soon to be born Layla are her six great grand-daughters with whom we will share many happy memories. Laura is also survived by her sister Iris and brother-in-law Chuck as well as many other relatives and friends.

Laura was born in Chemainus, BC to Charles and Janet Thomson. Laura was a champion bowler and with Garf travelled to many out of town locations to compete. Laura loved to watch softball and was Dad’s greatest fan when he was coaching and her grand-children’s best cheerleader when they were participating in sporting events or playing in the school band. Laura enjoyed her garden, cooking, playing cards and spending time with friends and family.

A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Laura McDonald will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday November 5th 2009 in Sutton’s Funeral Chapel, 502 South Dogwood, Campbell River, BC.

A tea at the Elk's Hall will follow the service.
