On July 15th, at the age of 93, Effie passed away peacefully at Yucalta Lodge in campbell River, BC. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gordon, her parents, Agnes and Thomas Carson and all 12 of her sisters and brothers.
She leaves behind her daughter Shurlee (Peter) Sabo, grandchildren: Lana, Rick (Judy), Tracey (Ulrich), Richard (Brenda), Heather (Mark) and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also holding a special place in her heart are: May, Gail, (Laurel Lodge) Denis Hartland and Dennis Graham.
Effie was born in North Bay, Ontario, the youngest of 13 children. She won medals for bowling and loved being active. She had a great sense of humor and could make the best beef barley soup ever. She loved to paint and had a flair for decorating her homes wherever she traveled. And travel she did, living in every province in Canada.
We will all miss her, but know she had one great life and if we know Effie she will already be busy re-decorating heaven. In fact just today I notice the sun is shining brighter and the sky a little bluer.
