Dorothy Violet
May 14, 1913 – May 25, 2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, gramma and great gramma Dorothy.
Predeceased by her first husband, Andy Frejd,the love of her life, (1954) and later by her second husband, Jack Poots (1997).
She is survived by her children Diane, Gail (Ken), Andrew (Rita), David (Pennie) and Colleen; grandchildren: Kirsten, Lindsey, Sarah, Lauren, Amy, Michael and Matthew and her great grandchildren Kayla and Julia.
Dorothy was born in Pine Lake, Alberta and later moved to Vancouver Island where she spent many years.
Dorothy was a classy lady who was proud of her family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends and staff at Westhaven. Feisty until the end, she told the nurses “That's no way to treat an old lady” when they moved her for the last time!
She passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2008 with her daughters at her side, only eleven days after her 95th birthday.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westhaven Multi-Care Facility in Port Alberni for all of their help.
A gathering to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held from 2pm - 4 pm on Monday, June 2, 2008 at Echo Field House located at the North end of Wood Street in Port Alberni.
In lieu of flowers the family would like you to plant a seed in memory of Dorothy.
