December 12, 1919 – April 3, 2016

Survived by her daughters Lisa Hubbard (Pete) of Calgary, AB and Leanne Lacusta (Ron) of Fort McMurray, AB and seven grandchildren: Cole, Carrie, Ryan, Kevin, Curtis, Katie and Clayton. Predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) Miller in 1983 and son David Miller (Deb) in 2009.

Dolly was born in London, England and became a “war bride” - brought to Canada by her husband Dick who was in the Royal Canadian Airforce and flying Lancaster Bombers out of England during WWII. They settled in Campbell River after the war where Dolly used her seamstress skills and sewed many of the clothes that were sold in her little dress shop. Dick began his business which would later become Miller Tire – a service station and tire shop – for many successful years til their retirement in 1977.

Dolly was a devoted wife and mother and her grandchildren were the absolute joy of her life. Even at 70 years old she was quite capable of babysitting all seven grandchildren at the same time! “Nana” as she was known in her later years will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

A huge thank you to New Horizons staff for their care of Mom in her final years. No service per Dolly’s request. Family will be celebrating Dolly’s life at a future date when we can all get together.
