Darren Russell

Born July 7, 1969 in Ocean Falls, BC. Passed away suddenly in Denver, Colorado. To mourn his passing are his father Gerald, mother Marlene and brother Brian Currie. Also his aunt Denise Dionne, David and Libby Dionne, Debbie Dionne and Dawn Kari-Lyn and Danielle Ladret. His Uncle and Aunt Mel & Jean Marcoux, Cathy, Jacob and Kayla Marcoux and Karen, David and Jasmin Long. His Uncle Duncan Currie, Aunt Margaret Boutilier and their families.

Darren joined the Armed Forces in may, 1989. He spent a year and a half in training at Cornwallis, N.S. St. Jean and Valcartier, Que. and Borden, Ont. He then transferred to Halifax, where he spent about five years on the H.M.C.S. Fredericton and Charlottetown where he visited every port in Europe. He did a six month tour each in Bosnia and Croatia, and one year in Syria. Whenever he could get leave he visited every country he could. Then, he stayed put in Halifax until he was posted in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in march 2003 at the Norad Station. In December 2004 he was promoted to Master Seaman and was supposed to transfer to Victoria in July 2005.. He will be cremated, and his ashes will be placed beside his grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Marcoux. No service by request. A family service will be held at a later date.
