gordon,

c.j. (Con)

Con Gordon, a Campbell River pioneer passed away at Yucalta Lodge October 1, 2005, at the age of 95.

Con was predeceased by wife Donna in 2001 - married for 59 years.

He leaves daughter Faye Lewis of Vancouver, son Wayne, Grandchildren Scott and natalie, niece Diana and nephew Dave, and brother-in-law Philip and his family.

Con also leaves a sister and brother in Saskatchewan who are near his age and their families.

After 10 years as a school teacher in rural Saskatchewan Con came to Campbell River and cleared acreage at the the corner of 13th Avenue and Dogwood. He worked on many local construction projects but his first love was building houses. He built about 36 houses in the community, many of which are still in use.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling around at the drop of a hat. He would be gone for a long drive with whoever wanted to come.

The family thanks all the caring health workers at Yucalta Lodge, his niece Diana for her visits, our care giver Maria Sawatzky, and Dr. Paul Brown.

God Bless - Rest in Peace - It was a long journey.
