Audrey was born in Courtenay, BC, the daughter of Hugh Stewart whose parents homesteaded in the Comox Valley in the 1860’s and Ruby Ellen Boake, businesswoman in Courtenay. Predeceased by her husband Donald “Smoothy” Marshall (Union Bay), Audrey and Smoothy moved to Campbell River in 1946 and together owned and operated Marshall’s Sporting Goods, the first sporting goods store in Campbell River. Predeceased by her brother Hale Stewart (Coquitlam) and sister Marie (Andy) Livingstone (Vancouver) Audrey is survived by her daughter Dawn Marie McLean (David) in Victoria, grandson Sahr Marshall, granddaughter Erin Marie (Nick McKinnon) and great-grand daughter Jade Frances; sister-in-law Grace Stewart; Marshall family: Carolle Lynn (Bob) Price, Leah Marshall (Paris), Marilyn Simms (Kye Bay), Glenys (Mike) Burfitt, Lyle (Carol) Ferryman (Vancouver); Livingstone family (Vancouver): Margaret Jean, Jim, Hugh, John, Chris and Stewart family: Kevin, Simone, Heather, Greg (Australia). Audrey enjoyed her family, friends, her garden, canned salmon and picking blackberries. She was generous, feisty and independent, a true west coast spirit. Special thanks to her primary caregivers Donna and Sonia, We Care home support staff, her medical team, Holloway and Co. accounting, and a long time network offriends who looked in on her over the years. A gathering to celebrate thelives of Smoothy and Audrey Marshall will be held in Campbell River this summer.
