The Comox Valley RCMP responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Highway 19A in Merville yesterday at approximately 5:30 a.m.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and the vehicle involved left southbound towards Courtenay.
The highway was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident.
As of the Mirror’s press time at noon yesterday, the Comox Valley RCMP were looking for a vehicle with heavy front end damage in relation to this incident.
