Campbell River Search and Rescue (CRSAR) rescued an injured hiker from Rambler Peak in Strathcona Park on Saturday.

CRSAR members flew out to the scene on the RCMP helicopter, Air 8, and did a hover exit near the subject’s location the group reported on its website. After a rapid first aid assessment, they used ropes to safely get the injured climber up a snow slope to a safe landing area.

The subject was loaded onto the RCMP helicopter and flown back to the Campbell River Airport for transfer to BC Ambulance Service. The rescue was completed successfully with only 20 minutes of daylight to spare.
