Museum theft thwarted
Police are reviewing video surveillance to identify the suspects who tried to steal two lawn mowers from the Museum at Campbell River.
The attempted theft on Sunday night was thwarted by a caretaker who interrupted the thieves’ work.
Police were called to the museum on 5th Avenue at 10:46 p.m. and checked the garage where the mowers are kept, but the suspects were already gone.
About four hours later, at 2:27 a.m., RCMP responded to a commercial alarm at Monk Office Supply on Shoppers Row.
The front door was found smashed and the business was entered, however, investigators are unsure if anything was taken.
On Friday, at 9:13 a.m., police responded to a complaint of a smashed window at the Campbell River Pet Center, located at 1250 Ironwood Road.
Fortunately, entry was not gained.
