Firefighters were called to a gas line break Wednesday morning on Petersen Road where contractors had excavated the road in order to install services to a new condominium development. With the help of Fortis BC, the break was quickly fixed, but the stench of natural gas was particularly heavy around 16th Avenue and Maple Street. The fire department evacuated nearby businesses and residents for a short period while the break was fixed.
