Langley man vanishes on trip to his new Sayward home
Danny where are you?
That’s a question without an answer this week as Danny Rikkinen’s family frantically searches in vain for the missing 59-year-old Langley husband and grandfather who was in the process of moving to a new home in Sayward when he vanished off the face of the earth.
“We love him and we miss him and we want him back,” niece Denise Powell, of Pitt Meadows, tells the Mirror.
Powell says her uncle was last seen Nov. 22 at the Langley Memorial Hospital where his wife Diane was being treated for a fractured pelvis.
“He kissed her goodnight and promised to return in the morning for coffee before heading off to continue the process of moving them to Sayward,” Powell says. “He never made it. He spoke to his stepsons that night and went to the bank the next morning and has not been seen since.”
Rikkinen is five foot, six inches tall and stocky with blue eyes and sandy graying hair. “He looks rough and tumble, but he’s a real softie with a heart of gold,” Powell says. She adds that her uncle has no addiction or mental health issues.
The semi-retired big rig truck driver was driving a 1993 maroon GMC Cheyenne pickup with a canopy, license EH2194. If you find Rikkinen call the RCMP or 911 immediately.
