The Museum at Campbell River has appointed David Leverton as its new eecutive director.

In making the announcement, Colleen Evans, President of the Museum’s Board of Trustees said, “We are excited to be working with David.  He brings a wealth of experience and energy that is vital to the important role of the Museum’s ongoing development.”

Leverton has had an extensive career as a senior executive and consultant with a number of public facilities including First Nations cultural and heritage centres, a maritime museum and major science centres, including the H.R. I have always been impressed by the professional standards of the facility and it is such a pleasure to now have the opportunity to be part of the museum team.

"I look forward to working with the Board, staff, volunteers and community members in ensuring that the Museum continues to provide the same level of professionalism and commitment towards preserving and interpreting the region’s past for the benefit of local area residents and visitors alike.”

Leverton’s first fulltime job was in Campbell River in the mid-seventies.  He and his wife now live in the Comox Valley and keep their boat in Campbell River.
