Firefighters investigate the cause of a wide-spread power outage that affected most stores in Discovery Harbour Shopping Centre. Early reports suggest a power surge was the cause of the blackout.

Firefighters were called to Discovery Harbour Shopping Centre after merchants reported seeing smoke and the lights went out.

The power outage forced most businesses in the complex to shut their doors and staff were evacuated for nearly one hour until the power was restored by BC Hydro.
