Fisheries minister to announce land-based closed containment project

On Monday, Keith Ashfield, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, will announce Government of Canada funding for four innovative aquaculture projects on Vancouver Island, including a land based closed-containment project. Ashfield will also welcome two new vessels into the department's B.C. Aquaculture Regulatory Program and mark the first year of its regulation of the aquaculture industry in the province.
